XP64 Bit in dual boot with Vista64 Bit(5270)

Hi, STRANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After installing Vista 64Bit (Build 5270) in a dual boot with my existing XP 64Bit all of my SATA disks seemed to have a defect. Every time I was booting to Vista chkdsk ran before I could log in. Every time I was booting to XP, I was able to log in but then the Intel Storrage Manager started to test my disk. I bought new disk and untill now I didnt dare to install Vista again. By the way, I have formatted the old disks and they are smooth without any problems in another setup. DID ANYONE EXPERIENCE THE SAME OR DO ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN? -- Ole Scan-Med

Please don't use capitals to excess in newsgroups - this is deemed quite rude as if you are shouting.
I can't say I've ever seen this... If it's working fine now however, it was probably a hardware/driver thing.

And if you look in Windows Event Viewer, there are log entries telling you that the NTFS structures are unrepairable and you should run CHKDSK.
Windows XP SP2 (32-bit), Windows Server 2003 SP1 (32-bit), Vista beta 1 retail (32-bit), and Vista beta 1 checked x64 (64-bit) have done this to me.
My installation of Vista beta 1 retail (32-bit) is in a virtual guest under Virtual PC 2004. If the hard drive had a bad block then the real OS would discover it and log an event in the real machine's event log. It didn't. The guest machine detected uncorrectable NTFS structures and recorded an event in its log. The NTFS drivers are doing it.

Sorry Zack, I didnt mean to be rude, so dont take my capitals for more as it is. -- Ole Scan-Med

No it worked fine for me in terms of file systems. It's nicely recognized my existing XP installation on the other disk and suggested a menu on the bootup right away: to go with Longhorn or Legacy system. No issue with the disks so far, but plenty of the other ones :)
